Personally I think Sevilla winning it so many times is a big knock on the competition and part of the reason why Europe League isn't as valued in recent times. The UEFA Cup used to be very prestigious. Then around the mid 2000's the narrative started to change. It became less and less respected, first by the media and the fans and then by clubs themselves as the big clubs would often play their reserves until the later rounds. This time period coincided with Sevilla's rise in the competition. ALL 7 of their titles have come AFTER this change. No knock against them, but the fact a club such as Sevilla has won the competition 7 times is telling.
Sevilla are NEVER title challengers in Spain. Last season was their best "title challenge" in my near 25 years watching the sport. And they weren't really close, the wheels came off as soon as the business end of the season arrived. Other than that they've done NOTHING in La Liga for those 25 years except qualify for the occasional UCL. And most of those UCL qualifications were due to winning the Europa League and qualifying automatically as the winners and in many of those years they didn't even finish top 4 in Spain. Then once in the UCL they never do anything! They can't recreate even 20% of their Europe League form. This why them winning Europa League is damaging to the competition. And while Europa League tends to have more upsets than UCL, it's getting ridiculous now.
On a side note Spain have dominated this competition in recent times. Not only Sevilla winning 7 times but Atletico 3 times and Villareal 1 time. All since 2005.
They won it because it's there league 😂😂😂 nothing more 😛 just be giving them this trophy whenever there in the competition

It comes down to tactical flexibility and versatility, Spanish LaLiga Teams majority if not all play some form of possession base football and managers are quite flexible tactically because of the style of play allows for it. Even though Sevilla are not at their best this season the general style of play still remains, keep possession, players that are good on the ball and creativity. We have even seen it with teams that play lesser form of Spanish Football, Atl Madrid and Villareal can still have a solid game plan. LaLiga I think is one of the most tactically inclined and skilled based league.
